The film crew for the follow up series to Michael Wood’s Story of England, Mayavision International, visited the McDonald Institute today to shoot the results from the Long Melford test-pit excavations with Carenza Lewis. Residents and volunteers dug 36 sites under ACA direction over a single weekend last July, as part of a new television documentary to be presented by Michael Wood exploring the history of Great Britain. This is due to air on BBC2 in late spring.
Michael Wood is returning to the Fens next month to talk about the Story of England to the Peterborough Museum Society on 28th February. Any tickets which are not taken up by Museum Society members will be made available to the public from 1st February at £7.50 each. Tickets are available from Bob Melville, Secretary, Peterborough Museum Society, 7 Grange Avenue, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough. PE1 4HH.
