The Friends of Clare Country Park are exhibiting their proposed plans to run the park in Clare Town Hall this evening (Wednesday 8th February) before a public meeting with the Parish Council at 6:30pm. This group of local residents and supporters aim to to establish a charitable trust for ownership and management of Clare Castle Country Park to ensure protection of the site’s historical and archaeological heritage and preservation of the green space in perpetuity. They propose to reinstate a resident warden and sustainably self-finance the park by cheap car parking, two discreet holiday lets and a community room to ensure open access of the park for the whole community. Following the meeting, the Friends’ plans will be displayed in the goods shed in the park alongside the Parish Council’s proposal.
