Funding for Museums Awarded

The University of Cambridge Museums (UCM), including the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the Museum of Classical Archaeology, have been awarded an Arts Council grant of approximately £4.8million over the next four years. The funding for their bid will go towards widening access to the University’s research collections and strengthening patnerships between the eight museums in the consortium and others further afield.

Although the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology has been closed to visitors for the last year while refurbishment work has taken place, it aims to reopen again in May. The building work has finished on site and the museum staff are busy preparing the interior and display cases. We will post details of the opening dates and times of the new museum on this blog.
