Following news of our upcoming excavation at Ridley Hall in April, we have had confirmation from Magdalene College that they are also going to recruit and accommodate prospective applicants taking part in the dig. Magdalene College has a specific responsibility for raising the profile of the University of Cambridge with state schools in the North West, Merseyside and North Wales, and applications are open to eligible students currently in Year 12 from these areas. Participants will arrive on Thursday 12th April and will work on site alongside professional archaeologists on Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April, while staying in Magdalene College.
This will be an incredible opportunity to find out about life and learning at one of the world’s leading research universities by getting hand-on involvement in exciting new discoveries during a rare excavation in the city centre of Cambridge. Whether interested in pursuing archaeology or a related subject, the excavation will give participants the skills and confidence to aim high in their university applications as well as the chance to experience the life of an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge.
For further details about application criteria and how to apply for a place on the Ridley Hall excavation, please contact Magdalene College’s Schools Liaison Officer, Rosie Sharkey on 01223 332256 or firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
