Science on Saturday at the McDonald Institute

The McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research will be opening its doors this Saturday, the first weekend of the 2013 Cambridge Science Festival. Bring your family along to meet our researchers and discover the past through the tools of archaeological science with a range of fun and interactive activities.

This will be an opportunity to get hand-on with Access Cambridge Archaeology’s brand new archaeological test pit display cabinet. See what you can uncover as you dig down the stratigraphic layers!

While visiting the Downing Site, also make sure to step into the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology to find amazing inventions which have helped people explore, travel and communicate. The Museum is also hosting the Pitoti exhibition celebrating ancient European prehistoric rock-art through the technology of digital, 3-D and interactive graphics.

The McDonald will be open 10:30am-4pm and the Museum will be open 11am-4pm on Saturday 16th March 2013.
