Heritage Writtle’s Bid for a Grand Award

Heritage Writtle have applied for a Grand Award from Chelmsford City Council. This scheme allows members of the public to vote for a group’s bid and the one with the highest number of votes wins the grant.

Heritage Writtle have put in a bid for £1000 to go towards the purchase of geophysics equipment, for which they have been raising funds via talks, books etc. You can read about Heritage Writtle’s activities on the Grand Award website here.

ACA have worked with Heritage Writtle in Essex since 2009. They have been enthusiastic hosts of the HEFA programme (see the ACA excavation reports webpage here) and were successful applicants to the HLF’s All Our Stories fund with the support of Cambridge Community Heritage (details here).

You can cast your vote on the Chelmsford City Council website here, and voting is now open until midnight on 30th September. Please be aware that The Council undertakes a vote verification process.
