There has been significant progress in the development of the new Access Cambridge Archaeology (ACA) website in the past week, with additions to the project report webpages here for the years 2011-2013. Another page which has been updated this week is the calendar of upcoming events.
Director of Access Cambridge Archaeology, Dr Carenza Lewis, will be delivering a number of lectures on recent archaeological excavations run by ACA to local historical and archaeological societies including Manuden, Stapleford, Sharnbrook, Clare and Bures. She has also been invited to be a guest speaker at the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology & History, and the Martin Howe lecture to the Friends of Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery in 2014.
Other events include celebrations to conclude Heritage Lottery Funded All Our Stories projects supported by Cambridge Community Heritage. (CAFG) will be holding theirs at Wimpole Hall, Cambridge, during the weekend of 25th-26th January 2014, and Suffolk Horse Society will be holding theirs at Suffolk Food Hall, Ipswich on 22nd March 2014. The ACA calendar also includes some independent local archaeology events such as the Fen Edge Archaeology Group AGM and Presidential Address.
Details of upcoming school activities for 2014 will be added in due course. ACA are also delighted to announce that we will be running several archaeological activities in 2014 as part of the new Touching the Tide landscape partnership scheme on the Suffolk coast. Further information will follow on our news webpage and blog soon.
