Meldreth care home residents help with historical dig

The Royston Crow featured an article on Meldreth Local History Group’s test pit excavation at the village’s Maycroft Residential Care Home on the front page of their newspaper last Thursday. You can view the on-line article here.

Access Cambridge Archaeology (ACA) helped the group to apply for Heritage Lottery Funding to run a series of weekend community test pit excavations in the village as part of Cambridge Community Heritage in 2013. We’re delighted to see that Meldreth are continuing to delve into the village’s past and involve more members of the community in doing so.

You can read a report on the 2013 test pit excavations in Meldreth on the ACA website here.
